Discussed with Provider the importance of shelter in place drills and submitting application in a timely manner.
Today an unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with Provider this visit took place in the morning between 1:15-3:30pm there were 2 children with the Provider for a total of 4 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having free play, watching educational video, and actively engaged in self-selected activities. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and provider records, fire drill, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-D Description: Based on review of provider's monthly emergency response drills there no documentation of shelter in place drills. Evidence: No shelter in place drills to date were found documented. Plan of Correction: Provider will make sure a shelter in place drill is conducted this month.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on review of five children?s records, the provider did not maintain complete children?s records. Evidence: Child #1's record did not include the medical insurance policy number. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that she will ask the parent today for the number.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation of physical plant, areas were found not maintained in safe condition. Evidence: in the childcare area, the floor leading to the bathroom is not leveled/uneven and presents a tripping hazard for the children . Plan of Correction: Provider stated that her husband is currently in the process of fixing the floor.
