Comments:
A complaint investigation was initiated on December 1, 2017 regarding child supervision. Interviews were conducted, attendance documentation and caregiver schedules were reviewed. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation regarding supervision; the complaint was deemed not valid. An unannounced monitoring inspection was also conducted today from 9:45am-11:00am. At the time of inspection, 12 children (30 points) were directly supervised by the provider and one assistant. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 2 caregiver records. The caregivers received the required 16 hours of annual training. Children were observed during play time, engaged in a variety of activities, and infants were observed napping. The provider was preparing chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and green beans for lunch. Diapering and handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector at megan.smith@dss.virginia.gov
