- Technical Assistance:
Consultation provided on using bleach water solution as the sanitizing agent ( 1 TBSP per Gallon) Consultation provided on standards 690D2 ( non absorbent diapering surface) and 690E ( disposing of soiled diapers in a foot operated container).
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today with the provider, who was present with an assistant and eight children for a total of 23 points. The children had finished lunch ( lentil soup with rice, carrots, onions and potatoes and milk) and were enjoying some free time before nap time. Five children's files were reviewed today as well as the three household members and the assistant's files. No child had medication on site. There have been no injuries/accidents. The provider's first aid/CPR is through American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) and is due to expire on 8/22/18 and the assistant's first aid/CPR is through ASHI and is due to expire on 11/20/19. Arrival time: 11:45 am Departure time: 1: 20 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the diapering surface was not sanitized after each use. Evidence: Several diapers were changed today and the diapering surface was not sanitized afterward as the spray bottle of the sanitizing agent ( bleach water solution) had broken the end of last week and had not been replaced. Plan of Correction: We made up a fresh batch of bleach water solution and placed the spray bottle near the diapering surface.
