Provider and inspector discussed maintaining capacity at all times.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:15am-11:20am. There were 12 children (26 points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and reading books. There was a supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-A-4
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure the total number of children receiving care at any one time did not exceed the maximum capacity of the home. Evidence: At 10:36am, the provider had 12 children in care and an additional child arrived bringing the total children in care to 13 children. The maximum capacity of the home is 12 children. At 10:55am, an child was picked up bringing the total children in care back to 12 children.

Plan of Correction: Violation was corrected during the inspection when a part time child was picked up.
