- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from approximately 12:00PM to 1:50PM to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. Some but not all standards were reviewed. In attendance were three non-resident children. The children were being supervised by one caregiver during the inspection. There was a total of 12 points based on the children?s ages. Children were observed playing with toys, reviewing animal sounds and having a book read to them. The caregiver also fed the infants lunch during the inspection. During the inspection the emergency supplies were inspected including the first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio. The menus, emergency drill logs, parent agreements and daily attendance were reviewed. The provider stated medication is not administered and transportation is not provided at this time. During the inspection, four children's records were reviewed. There have been no changes to the caregiver?s record since the initial October 2017 inspection. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, contact the licensing inspector, Lynn Powers at (804) 662-9790.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A Description: Based on review of four children's records, the provider did not obtain immunization documentation prior to the child attending the family day home. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the record for Child #3 (start date 01/03/18) contained an immunization record dated 01/04/2018. The record for Child #4 (start date 10/23/17) contained an immunization record dated 10/30/17. Immunization records are required to be obtained prior to attending the family day home. Plan of Correction: I will add the information to the orientation packet and all documentation will have to be submitted prior to new children attending.
