22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
Today an unannounced Renewal inspection took place between 11:40am and 1:00pm. There were 3 children present with the provider for a total of 11 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed working with flashcards, playing with manipulatives and playing freely. The children provider their own meals. The provider is not currently MAT trained and does not administer prescription medication. A complete inspection of the physical plant, 5 children's records and 1 staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information. Evidence: Child #3 file did not contain the child's medical insurance policy number. Plan of Correction: I will send them a message.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observation, protective covers were not used for unused electrical outlets. Evidence: There was one unused outlet near the children's napping area that did not have a protective cover. Plan of Correction: I will put it there.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-480-D Description: Based on observation, equipment used by the children were not used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Evidence: At the start of the inspection, one child was placed in a bouncy chair and was covered with their blanket for comfort. The provider did not use the buckle to secure the child into the chair. Plan of Correction: I will bucket them.
