- Technical Assistance:
Inspector discussed medication authorization forms, handwashing, baby bottles, cleaning and sanitizing tables, and storage of cleaning products.
An unannounced monitoring/renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:oopm-1:15pm. There were 6 children (18 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing freely and eating lunch. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D Description: Based on observation, medication was not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: In the home, children's medications are kept on an open shelf. Plan of Correction: We will place them in a locked box or return to parents.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A Description: Based on observation, three of five topical creams utilized were not labeled with the child's name. Evidence: Three topical creams present at the center were not labeled with the child's name. Plan of Correction: We will label the topical creams.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not conduct emergency evacuation procedures monthly. Evidence: There was no documented drill for the month of January 2018. Plan of Correction: We did a monthly drill for January but I just did not have a chance to write it down.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not ensure each adult household member has a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form every two years from the date of the first screening. Evidence: Household member A has a tuberculosis screening which was conducted 07/08/2015. Plan of Correction: I will ask him to get a new tuberculosis screening.
