A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 2/20/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 7 children(20 points) in direct care of two caregivers. The children were observed playing with toys and legos, listening to songs, washing hands and eating lunch. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-B Description: Based on record review and staff interview, caregiver did not obtain the Virginia Preservice training. Evidence: 1. Staff # 3 was hired in 2014. 2. There was no documentation of the Virginia Preservice training in Staff # 3's file. 3. Staff # 1 stated that she was not aware that staff # 3 would need training hours. Plan of Correction: I will have my staff complete the preservice training.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-E-1 Description: Based on record review, caregivers did not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Evidence: 1. Staff # 2's CPR certification expired on 2/1/18. 2. Staff # 3's CPR certification expired on 2/1/18. Plan of Correction: They are going to the CPR training on 2/24/18.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-E-2 Description: Based on record review, caregivers did not have current first aid certification. Evidence: Staff # 2 and Staff # 3's first aid certification expired on 2/1/18. Plan of Correction: They are going to first aid training on 2/24/18
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-030-A-3 Description: Based on record review and staff interview, annual lockdown drills were not practiced. Evidence: 1. There was no documentation of the lockdown drill on the family day home's emergency drill record. 2. Staff # 1 stated that she has not done any lockdown drills. Plan of Correction: I will complete and document the lockdown drill.
