- Technical Assistance:
The provider's daughter has moved into the residence and the provider is considering using her as an assistant. Discussed requirements for her daughter as well as changes to background check requirements and training hours.
Today an unannounced Monitoring/Renewal inspection took place between 1:00 pm and 2:45 om. There were 2 children present with the provider for a total of 6 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were napping during today's visit. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-B Description: Based on record review, the provider did not review their emergency preparedness plan annually. Evidence: The last documented review of the provider's emergency preparedness plan is dated 7/15/2016 Plan of Correction: I'll correct it now.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information. Evidence: Child #1 file did not contain a second emergency contact. Plan of Correction: I will see the mom today and ask her for a second contact.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain updated immunizations every six months for one child under the age of two. Evidence: Child #1 (date of birth: 7/6/2016) most recent immunizations on record are dated 4/7/2017. Plan of Correction: I'll notify mom today and ask for them as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider has not obtained a TB screening every two years. Evidence: The last documented TB screening for the provider is dated 7/29/2015. The provider has confirmed that she has not yet had her subsequent screening. Plan of Correction: I will be going to the health department on Tuesday to have this completed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observation, one unused outlet did not have a protective cover. Evidence: One unused outlet under the window in the main living room was missing an outlet cover. Plan of Correction: The children were napping upstairs at the time. I was planning on using my computer. This was corrected during the inspection.
