Technical Assistance:
Discussion of the subsidy regulations and how they apply to the Family Day Home (FDH).

A Subsidy Health and Safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted at the DeGallo FDH located in Ashburn, Virginia. This inspection was conducted on 03/16/2018, between the hours of 11 am through 2 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An Unannounced Monitoring Inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you should have any future questions, please call. Description: Based on interview, 2 of 2 staff members indicated that all caregivers hired prior to the effective date of this regulation, did not complete the Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Social Services. Evidence - 1. Staff #1 stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 03/16/2018) that neither her nor Staff #2 had completed the 10 hours of online Pre-service training. Staff #1 did indicate that she had started the training, but has yet to complete it. Staff #2 indicated that she has yet to begin. 2. This same regulation was cited previously during an inspection conducted on 09/06/2017 involving the same two staff.

Plan of Correction: Training will be obtained by both Staff #1 and Staff #2.
