An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 19, 2018 between the hours of approximately 10:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Ten children were enrolled and seven children were in the care of one caregiver on this date (16 points). Four family members were also present in the home. Five children's records and three caregivers' records were reviewed and/or updated. No medications were administered, as is the policy of this family day home. Facility documents, safety equipment (first aid kit, flashlight, radio and fire extinguisher) and posted information were observed/reviewed. Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play (toys); group time; puppet show; dancing with ribbons; music with instruments; story; restroom, diapering and handwashing procedures; lunch (provided by parents); naptime and arrival of one child. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were also observed. The daily routine was consistent with the posted daily schedule and the children knew and followed both the daily routine and transitions well. The caregiver responded to the individual needs of the children in care. Substantial compliance with the licensing standards was observed; no violations were cited during this inspection. Discussed on this date: background clearances; nutrition (storage of bottles and menus); modification of license and outdoor play area. Thank you for your time and assistance. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
