An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated today. The physical plant, 3 caregiver/household member files, 5 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 1:10 and 3pm. There were 9 children, totaling 23 points, under the supervision of 2 caregivers. During the inspection, children were observed taking naps, listening to a caregiver read a book, listening to music, and waking up from nap time. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Today, the children were served cheese pizza, salad, applesauce and milk for lunch. The Provider is certified in MAT (medication administration training). There are no children with any medication needs during program hours. Should you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-A Description: Based on file review, 2 out of 5 children's records were not up-to-date. Evidence 1. Children #1 and #2 have records which were last updated on 3/13/17. Plan of Correction: The Provider had these files out as a reminder to ask the parents to update their file.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 5 children's records does not have additional immunizations every six months up to the age of 2 years. Evidence 1. Child #5 is 2 years old. The most recent immunization update was completed when the child was 1 year old. Plan of Correction: The Provider thought that the parents gave this to her. She will continue to look for this, but will ask for a copy if it is not found.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-3 Description: Based on file review, the Provider's CPR and First Aid certification is not through an acceptable organization. Evidence 1. The Provider's CPR and First Aid certification was completed online through the National CPR Foundation. This must be completed through the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or the National Safety Council. Plan of Correction: The Provider will complete this.
