Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 2:15pm to 3:40pm. The children were observed resting on cots, and the infants were observed playing. Today, there were eight children including one resident child, totaling 20 points, present with two caregivers. Lunch today consisted of: fish sticks, carrots, apricots, saltine crackers and milk Five children?s records, three caregivers? records and one household record were reviewed during the inspection. Last emergency drill: 02/16/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 04/01/2017 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-780-B
Description: Based on a review of children's records on 03/19/2018, the provider did not ensure that each year a review of the emergency contact information to ensure the information is correct was conducted with the parents, and the parents sign an acknowledgment of the review. EVIDENCE: 1. The most recent review of the contact information in the record of Child #2 was dated 02/27/2017. 2. The most recent review of the contact information in the record of Child #3 was dated 03/02/2017.

Plan of Correction: Will have parents complete today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation on 03/19/2018, the provider did not ensure that the menu for the current one-week period was given to parents or posted or placed in an area accessible to parents. EVIDENCE: The provider serves meals and snacks. The menu for the week was not posted.

Plan of Correction: Will complete and post today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation on 03/19/2018, the provider did not ensure that outside areas of the family day home shall be maintained in a safe condition. EVIDENCE: 1. The fence surrounding the backyard where the child play had several broken boards with sharp, jagged edges. 2. A slat on the fence in the backyard had protruding nails.

Plan of Correction: Will let landloard know and he will fix it before the end of the week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-310
Description: Based on observation on 03/19/2018, the provider did not ensure that lawnmowers are inaccessible to the children in care. EVIDENCE: A lanwmower was observed in an unlocked shed in the backyard where the children play.

Plan of Correction: Will put lock on the doors before kids go out to play
