Technical Assistance:
During the inspection, the licensing inspector discussed with provider updating medication administration policy, annual training requirements at upcoming renewal and children's records. Provider has completed fingerprinting backgrounds and is now in compliance with new background standards.

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted at the Family Day Home from 10:00am-11:45am. A total of 12 children were present with 2 caregivers. Children were observed engaged in a variety of group activities, handwashing and lunch [which consisted of spaghetti, applesauce and milk]. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and supplies available to the children in care. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 caregiver records, emergency drills and other documents were reviewed. Violations are noted on the inspection notice. If you have any questions, please contact me at Ivaco.Clarke@dss.virginia.gov or 571-835-5505. Thank you for your cooperation.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation and discussion with provider, the menu posted for the week did not list food substitutions. Evidence: On the day of inspection, the menu stated that baked chicken, mixed vegetables and bread would be served; however, provider stated that spaghetti and applesauce would be served instead.

Plan of Correction: I will provide the menu to my parents.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on a review of records, 1 out of 2 caregivers did not obtain the required 16 hours of annual training relevant to their job responsibilities. Evidence: The record for Caregiver #2 contained documentation of 10 training hours out of the 16 hours required.

Plan of Correction: The caregiver will complete the training.
