An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 11 children (27pts) with 3 staff were present during the inspection. When the inspector arrived, lunch was being served. Children were observed sitting at the tables with staff. Lunch today was chicken and corn. Ample amounts were available for second helpings which some children were observed having. A nice transition from lunch, to bathroom and handwashing. Children were observed selecting a book and sitting on the area carpet while children took turns going to the bathroom. Cots were set up for nap time. Staff observed sitting with the children in the nap room while they fell asleep and continued sleeping. One child was observed sleeping in a crib. Diapering procedures were observed. No medications at this time. Seasonal artwork displayed which consisted of paper plate clovers and hand pained umbrellas. A total of 5 children's records and all staff records were reviewed. Staff and children have remained the same since the last inspection in October. This inspection began at 11:40am and ended at 1pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A Description: Based on child record review, one child's health exam was not obtained within 30 days of their first day of attendance. Evidence: Child #1 began care on 6/12/2017. The health exam found in the child's record was dated 8/1/2017 Plan of Correction: I will ensure that all health exams are obtained within 30 days of each new child's start date.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A Description: Based on child record review, immunizations for 1 child was not obtained prior to attendance. Evidence: Child #1 began care on 6/12/2017. Immunizations obtained were dated 7/25/2017. Plan of Correction: I will ensure that immunizations for all new children enrolled are received prior to their start date.
