An unannounce renewal inspection was conducted on April 5th 2018 between 10:30am and 12:00pm. There were 11 children (22points) in the direct care of 2 caregivers. Children were observed dancing, singing, having circle time, learning about Earth's oceans, watching an educational program related to oceans, painting, and answering questions about calendar and weather. The day care space is clean, organized, and offers plenty of space, books, and choices for children to work on. Areas of non-compliance are listed on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on observation, the emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly. Evidence: An evacuation drill was not documented as conducted December 2017. A shelter-in-place drill was conducted in its place. Plan of Correction: I will conduct both drills on the same day to ensure that they are completed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, 3 of 4 children's records reviewed did not have all of the required information. Evidence: Child #2 record does not a 2nd full emergency contact listed. Child #3 record does not have documentation of a complete address for the first listed emergency contact. Child #4 record is missing an insurance policy number. Plan of Correction: I will go through all the files and have the parents fill in all of the blanks.
