- Technical Assistance:
Discussed that fingerprint results must be obtained prior to hire and can not be transferred from one employer to another. You are reminded that the renewal application is now online and you will receive a notice of expiration via email from the Division.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 11 children ( 28pts) with Provider and 1 assistant. A family member was visiting during the inspection. When the inspector arrived, the children were observed in small groups playing freely with the toys and equipment. The toys are within reach of the children which allows them to freely select what they would like to play with independently. Observation of bathroom and hand washing was observed during the inspection. No medications on site and no food allergies identified. A total of 5 children's records and all staff records were reviewed. Observation of the crib area was also made. Preparation for lunch was made while the two younger children were within site of the provider in their high chairs. This inspection began at 10am and ended at noon. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-A Description: Based on staff record review, one background check was not obtained as required. Evidence: Staff #2 was hired on 4/2/18. The fingerprint background check indicated this staff is eligible to work in a child care setting but was completed from a previous employer in March 2018. Fingerprint background checks are not transferable from one employer to another. Plan of Correction: We did not know this and will complete a new fingerprint check on this staff this week.
