- Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and a review of changes to background checks with regards to expiration dates, new fingerprint checks to be done through Fieldprint of Virginia & Office of Background Investigations (OBI), new sworn disclosure statements, and to obtain CPS checks from other states as listed from the past five years. The roll out for the new fingerprint checks occurred on January 22, 2018. All finger print checks for existing employees and household members must be started for each according to the established time table and then completed by September 30, 2018. New employees will not be allowed to start until an ?Eligibility Letter? is on file. Discussion of an error discovered on the printed license. The Family Day Home's approved total capacity of children at any one time is 9 children (not counting those children that are residents). The printed license lists a capacity of 12. The license was corrected by hand, by the inspector, during the inspection today on site. The posted license now reflects a capacity of 9.
The following inspection took place between the hours of 9 am through 11:30 am. Today, I met with the Provider on site at the Family Day Home (FDH) located in Broadlands, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 8 children (16 points) (1 resident child) with 2 caregivers. A total of 10 children?s files, 2 staff files, and 3 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: games; toy play; story time; learning their numbers; handwriting exercise with colors and the number "3;" music time - song, music, and dance; and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
