Loudoun County Family Services continues to offer provider training. Registration is found online.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 9 children (23pts) with Provider and 2 assistants were at the playground when the inspector arrived. The licensing inspector observed a nice transition from outside to inside. Appropriate supervision provided as staff brought the children in from their strollers. The older children remained on the playground with one staff and was within ratio guidelines. Hand washing and diapering procedures were observed. The children played freely with plastic balls, books, kitchen play set and interacted with staff. Preparation for lunch was made and the children took turns hand washing and seating themselves at the table. The younger children were fed in high chairs by staff sitting in front of them and encouraging them to eat. Lunch today was macaroni and cheese, chicken and broccoli. There was ample supply for second servings which the children requested. The cots and crib areas were observed as well as the diapering and bathroom area. All topical ointments were labeled. A total of 6 children's records, all staff and household records were reviewed. This inspection began at 10am and ended at 11:45am. Thank you for your cooperation today. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on review of children's records, 1 out of 6 records reviewed was incomplete. Evidence: The liability insurance declaration was not found in Child #4's record. The medication policy was not found in Child #4's record. Plan of Correction: I will have the parent sign both of these today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation of the diapering surface, the surface is no longer absorbent. Evidence: The diaper mat used for diapering has a crack in it and is no longer absorbent. Plan of Correction: I will replace this mat this week with a new one.
