- Technical Assistance:
Inspector spoke with the provider about the updated background check regulations during this inspection.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:10am to11:55am. At the time of inspector's arrival there were 4 children, ages 1-3yrs, for a total of 10 points, in care with the provider. The records sample size consisted of 5 children's records and 3 provider / assistant/ household member records. Children were observed engaging in creative play and interacting with the provider. The provider stated that no medications are being administered and there have been no injuries since the last inspection. Areas of noncompliance are detailed in the violation notice and were discussed with the provider during the exit meeting at the conclusion of this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-C Description: Based on record review it was determined the provider did not obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years. Evidence: 1. The record for child #3(DOB 7/1/16) did not contain current immunizations. The documentation available was dated 10/24/2017. 2. The record for child #4(DOB 11/1/17) did not contain current immunizations. The documentation available was dated 10/23/2017. Plan of Correction: Provider will request updated immunization documentation from parents at pick up.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation it was determined that the provider did not ensure that all areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were maintained in a safe, and operable condition. Evidence: The rings that attached the swing chains to the A-frame were rusted and worn, presenting potential injury hazards. Plan of Correction: Provider will replace the rings on the swings.
