Reminded provider of background checks that will be expiring in the near future and discussed emergency supplies.
Today an unannounced Monitoring inspection took place between 7:30am and 9:00am. There were 4 children present with the provider for a total of 4 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed being dropped off by their parents, playing independently, making lemonade to have with snack this afternoon, eating breakfast and walking to the bus stop. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Thank you for your cooperation. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances were not stored in areas inaccessible to children. Evidence: At the start of the inspection, there were six individual various vitamins sitting on a napkin on the kitchen island and there was one child seated at the island. Plan of Correction: We'll take our vitamins at a different time of day.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that children' hands were washed before eating. Evidence: The children were observed playing independently prior to eating breakfast. The children the came to the kitchen to eat breakfast and did not wash their hands prior to eating. Plan of Correction: I will make them wash their hands.
