A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 4/302018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 10 children in care and 1 resident child present with the vendor and one assistant at the onset of the inspection. Children and assistant and household records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. One violation regarding pre-service training was identified and appears on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-B Description: Based on record review and interview the vendor failed to ensure that within the first 90 days of employment all caregivers will complete Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Social Services. Evidence: 1 - The record for staff 2 does not have any documentation that the Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff was completed. a. Staff 2 has a documented date of hire as 10/6/15. 2 - The vendor stated that staff 2 had not completed the required training. Plan of Correction: The vendor will work with the assistant to ensure that the training is completed as required.
