Discussed with the provider to turn toys and containers upside down to prevent water from accumulating.
An unannounced visit was conducted today between the hours of 9:15am through 11:00am with the provider on site. There was one child on site today. The home is clean and organized with an abundant supply of toys. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-770 Description: Based on interview, the provider did not have a working portable battery-operated weather band radio. Evidence: 1. The provider stated she did not have a weather band radio. Plan of Correction: I will check on the status of the order previously made to purchase the weather band radio.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation, areas outside were not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The outside deck stairs that leads to the back yard had a rotten wooden top step. Plan of Correction: I plan to replace the wood that is rotten.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-260-E Description: Based on observation, a sand box was filled with water, accessible to children and was not emptied. Evidence: 1 A sandbox near the playground was filled with approximately 2 inches of water and was not emptied. Plan of Correction: I will go empty it and turn it upside down.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, cleaning products were not stored in areas inaccessible to children. Evidence: 1. A bottle of Febreze was located in a cabinet under the bathroom sink and had a child safety lock hanging on the cabinet that was unlocked. Plan of Correction: I will lock the cabinet immediately.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observation, the provider did not have child-resistant protective covers on all unused electrical outlets. Evidence: 1. One outlet to the right of the window with blue and white curtains was not covered with a protective cover and was not being used. Plan of Correction: I covered it immediately.
