- Technical Assistance:
An exit interview was conducted with the provider to discuss the results of today's inspection. Consultation was given regarding updated background check regulations and deadlines.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, June 26, 2018 to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. In attendance were 9 children totaling 22 points being supervised by the caregiver and assistant. One child was observed interacting with the assistant, while other children were receiving meals prepared by the provider. Children's books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. The children's restroom was inspected with the required supplies present. All rooms of the home used by children were inspected with no hazards found. Today's lunch consisted of Salisbury steak, mash potatoes w/gravy, mixed vegetables, sliced apples, and milk. The family day home had the required postings displayed on the wall upon entering the children's room. The first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and emergency supplies were inspected. Four children's record and one caregiver record were inspected with the majority of the required information found. The following was also inspected: fire drill log, parent agreements, daily attendance log, and other pertinent information. See attached notice for violations found on this day. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on the inspection of administrative records, the required evacuation drills were not practiced. Evidence: During the inspection of administrative records, it was discovered the family home has not practiced the required monthly evacuation drills since April 2018. Plan of Correction: Per owner: I will immediately start and record evacuation drills each month.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-200-C Description: Based on the inspection of provider records, the required information was not available to review. Evidence: During the inspection of provider records, it was discovered the assistant did not have any documentation of orientation. Plan of Correction: Per provider: I have misplaced the form, I will have my assistant complete a new form.
