54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the provider and assistant begin at 11:00 AM and ending at 12:47 PM. There were five children in care during the inspection. The children were ages 2, 3, 3, 3, and 5 years old for a total of nine points. The children were observed watching an age appropriate educational video, singing and dancing to music, and practicing their colors. The children were also observed eating snack which consisted of animal crackers and apple juice. Hand washing procedures were observed. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Three employee records were reviewed and in compliance. Emergency drills were reviewed and were in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 6/12/18. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 2/4/18. The most recent lockdown drill was documented as 4/20/18. The menu was posted. Emergency supplies were observed an in compliance. Staff training was reviewed and in compliance. The provider and assistant are not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified and cannot administer medication. The provider and assistant are certified in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
