Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 2:30pm and 5:30pm. There were 9 children in care and one resident child present with the provider and one assistant. The children present totaled 26 points. Children were observed in provider and self-directed activities including nap, transitions, restroom routines, hand washing, diaper changing, snack and playing in the family day home playroom. A single violation was identified in the area of sleep, and appears on the violation notice.

Description: Based on observation and interview the provider failed to ensure that children under two years of age are do not use filled comforters. Evidence: 1 - Child 1, a 20 month old was napping under a filled comforter blanket today during nap time. 2 - The provider stated that child 1 had not yet turned two years old.

Plan of Correction: The provider will ensure that no children under 2 years old are not given filled comforter for nap time.
