Discussed with Provider the importance of making sure that the kids are kept out of the kitchen area when hazards are presence.
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Provider. This visit took place in the morning between 9:15-11:45 there were 6 children with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of 25 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having a morning nap, playing with blocks, having outdoor free play, and in transition for lunch and nap time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on review of the weekly menu, the menu was not dated as required and did not reflect the meals or snacks provided by the family day home. Evidence: Upon arrival, the menu posted did not include the date for the current week. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that parents provide the meals and she just provide snack.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observation of the bottles, 3 infants were present however bottles were found not labeled with dates. Evidence: Two infant bottles were found that did not have a date. Plan of Correction: Provider added the dates, and will remind parents to include name and dates.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-450-D Description: Based on observation, side door was found not securely screened. Evidence: Upon arrival, the side door was found wide open however it did not have a screen. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that she has a screen but the kids push it. Provider stated that she will make sure the door is closed at all times.
