An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, August 24, 2018 to determine the providers compliance with family day home standards. The inspection was initiated at 9:30 am and concluded at 11:30 am. Upon the inspector's arrival four children were in care for a value of ten points with one caregiver. Children were observed playing with cars, looking at books and watching a video. Bathroom breaks were conducted with hand washing. The caregivers interacted in a positive and nurturing manner with children in care. The provider had the following posted: emergency phone numbers, last inspection notice, attendance sheets, and the license. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were checked and found complete. All areas used for child care were inspected. The inspector interacted with children in care and the caregiver. An evacuation drill was documented on 08/03/2018 and the one of the two required shelter-in-place drills was conducted on 06/06/2018. A second shelter-in-place drill will need to be completed by the end of the year. The records for four children, one caregiver and one household were reviewed. Medication is not being administered. No transportation provided. The caregivers have current CPR & First aid certification. A complete renewal application has been received by the Department. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.
