- Technical Assistance:
Assistance was provided on the following: Reminded provider to obtain fingerprint results through Field Print no later than 9/10/18, informed provider of the new central registry system, reminded caregivers to monitor how much time infants are spending in the cribs and to ensure that children eating/drinking are always seated.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am to 11:45am. There were 12 children (41 points) in care of three caregivers. The children were observed playing with large legos and soft toys. The children were also observed sleeping in cribs. 6 children and 3 staff records were reviewed. The lunch menu included cauliflowers, rice with tomato, black beans and milk. There were no medications on site. Emergency drill records were current. Areas of non-compliance are listed in the violation notice. For any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at email@example.com.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observation, bottles were not labeled with the child's full name and date. Evidence: 1. An infant milk bottle for Child # 1 did not have the date on it for the current day. 2. An infant milk bottle for Child # 2 was not labeled with the Child's name or date. Staff # 3 stated that the label keeps coming off and when the required information is written on the bottle it wears off easily. Plan of Correction: I will make sure bottles are labeled and dated. I will look into a better way of labeling.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-570-A Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that caregivers did not exceed points. Evidence: 1. The inspection started at 10:00am. Upon entrance there were 12 children (41 points) in care of Caregiver # 1 and Caregiver # 2. 2. Caregiver #2 stated that Caregiver # 3 had stepped out to go to the pharmacy approximately 5 minutes before the inspector arrived at the family day home. 3. Caregiver # 3 arrived at the family day home within approximately ten minutes. Plan of Correction: I will potentially hire another caregiver and make sure they are not over points until that happens.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface was not non-absorbent. Evidence: The diaper changing pad was observed to have tears exposing the inner material, making it an absorbent surface. Plan of Correction: I will get a new one.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
