A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from approximately 9:22 am to 11:30 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. During this inspection, there were two children present in care totaling four points being supervised by the provider. The licensing inspector observed the children in care participating in a variety of activities to include completing bathroom break, playing with colorful blocks, watching television, dancing while listening to interactive songs, working on words and name recognition, and interacting with peers. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, posted emergency contacts, fire, shelter-in-place, lockdown drills were reviewed by the inspector. During this inspection, there were four children's records, one provider's record, and two household member's records were reviewed by the inspector. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-E-3 Description: Based on review of provider's record and interview with provider, the provider did not ensure a caregiver with current cardiopulmonary and first aid training is always present during operating hours of the family day home. Evidence: During the inspection on September 6, 2018, there was not a current certification for CPR or first aid found for the provider in the record. Interview with the provider confirmed a current CPR or first aid certificate has not been completed at this time. Plan of Correction: The provider will complete first aid and CPR trainings by next month.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-B-5 Description: Based on review of lockdown procedures, the provider did not ensure all required components. Evidence: During the inspection on September 6, 2018, the lockdown procedures were missing two out of five of the components which included the following: Methods to secure the family day home and designated lockdown locations; Accommodations or special requirements for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs to ensure their safety during lockdown. Plan of Correction: The provider will complete lockdown procedures today.
