- Technical Assistance:
Inspector and provider discussed children's records, barrier for stairs, and crib regulations.
An announced initial inspection was conducted today, September 7, 2018, from 10:15am-11:45am. There were 2 children (8 points) directly supervised by 1 caregiver. The home, 1 staff records, 2 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and eating lunch. Lunch was provided by parents. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on record review, the provider did not have a current for the current one week period. Evidence: The provider did not have a menu. The provider stated she does provide lunch for preschool children during the week. Plan of Correction: I will create a menu.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-A Description: Based on two records reviewed, the provider did not ensure all required information was in the file. Evidence: 1) Child 1 is missing the house number for two emergency contact addresses. 2) Child 2 is missing the address and phone number for two emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: Today I will make sure parents update the file.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A Description: Based on two records reviewed, the provider did not give the parents all required information prior to the child's first day of attendance. Evidence: Child 1 and 2 are missing information regarding the daily schedule, terms of termination and check in and out procedures. Plan of Correction: I will give the parents the information.
