A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 9/6/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. . There were 12 children (29 points) supervised by 4 direct care staff. The home, 4 staff records, 6 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed napping, playing outside, eating snack, engaging in circle time, playing Legos, and completing fingerprint paintings. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the Violation Notice. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-C Description: Based on record review, 1 of 4 caregivers did not complete Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of the date the regulation became effective. Evidence: Caregiver C's (date of hire: 9/6/2018) record did not contain documentation of completed Virginia Pre-Service Training. Plan of Correction: She will complete it this weekend.
