54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:55am-12:45pm. There were 5 children (14 points) directly supervised by the provider and assistant. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, incident reports, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today in accordance with the provider's policy. Children were observed playing freely and eating lunch consisting of chicken, rice, raisins and broccoli. Hand washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not document an evacuation drill monthly. Evidence: There was no evacuation drill documented for August 2018. The provider stated that one was conducted but not documented. Plan of Correction: Future evacuation drills will be documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not keep a record of daily attendance. Evidence: There was not record of attendance taken on 9/10/2018. Plan of Correction: We will resume taking attendance daily.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A Description: Based on record review, parents were not provided in writing information pertaining to the family day home's policies for the administration of medications. Evidence: Children 1-4's records do not contain documentation that the parents have been provided information pertaining to the family day home's policies for the administration of medications. Plan of Correction: The family day home does not currently administer medication. Parent's have been informed of this verbally. We will document this in writing.
