Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding, maintaining records for all caregivers that are providing care to the children. A review of what is needed was given.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:45am-10:30am. There were 5 children (18 points) supervised by 2 direct caregivers. The home, staff records, children?s records, and programming were inspected. Children were observed, arriving, engaging freely and playing with puzzles. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-A
Description: Based on caregiver record review, the provider did not maintain a record for each caregiver. Evidence: Staff #1 did not have a record on file.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure I have a record for her before she works again.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-170-A
Description: Based on review of caregiver records, the provider did not obtain a report of tuberculosis screening (TB) for each employee. Evidence: Caregiver #1 does not have a TB test on file.

Plan of Correction: She only comes once in a while, but I will make sure she gets it done before she works again.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances, are plugged in when not in use. Evidence: In the kitchen, next to the area where the children are, the toaster oven and toaster are plugged in.

Plan of Correction: Corrected on site.

Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-A
Description: Based on caregiver record review, the provider did not have background checks for all caregivers. Evidence: Staff #1 does not have any background checks on file.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure she has them done before she works again.
