A monitoring inspection conducted with the provider and three assistants. Seven children were in care total of 17 points. The age range of the children was 15 months to three years. Children were observed during free play, snack time and group time. The children were learning shapes and colors. Five children, two household and three assistant records were reviewed. Inspection time 8:45am -10:30am
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-E Description: Based on observation not all assistant's used their foot to open diaper pail. Evidence: One assistant used their hand to open the foot operated diaper pail. Plan of Correction: Reminded assistants to always use their foot to open diaper pail.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-b Description: Based on review of three assistant files not all had a search of central registry check wit in 30 days of employment. Evidence: Assistant A with a hire date of 4/16/18 and Assistant B with a hire date of 3/26/18 did not have a search of central registry. Plan of Correction: I will send out the background checks by Monday.
