Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal inspection took place between 9:00am and 10:45am. There were 10 children present with the provider and 1 assistant for a total of 24 points within the supervision guidelines. The older children are kept separate from the younger children for the majority of the morning. The older children were observed finishing breakfast, pottying, washing hands, coloring Halloween pictures and practicing handwriting on individual white boards. The younger children were observed potty training, playing dress up and dancing. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please email me at whitney.mcgrath@dss.virginia.gov.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain updated immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years. Evidence: Child #3 (currently 23 months old) most recent immunizations are dated 12/8/2017, when the child was 12 months old.

Plan of Correction: I think the parents gave this to me and I must have misplaced it into another pile. I will make sure I find it.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances were not kept inaccessible to children. Evidence: During today's inspection, an indoor plant care chemical was observed on the window ledge next to the kitchen table. The children were observed freely roaming throughout the kitchen area where the plant chemical is accessible.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.
