An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:35am-12:00pm. There were 8 children (23 points) supervised by 2 direct care staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging in free play, coloring, and playing with lacing blocks and number matching blocks. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-A Description: Based on observation, the temperature in the refrigerator was not at or below 40 degrees Farenheit. Plan of Correction: The refrigerator settings were adjusted during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-570-A Description: Based on observation, the provider exceeded 16 points per caregiver. Evidence: From approximately 9:35am-9:45am, the provider was alone with 7 children (20 points). Plan of Correction: I will have my helper here in the mornings.
