An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:00pm-1:10pm. There were 11 children (28 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 1 staff record, 4 children's records, 2 household member's records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. The provider does not administer medication. Children were observed playing freely, preparing for nap and napping. There was a supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-510-A Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure each child was provided with an individual crib. Evidence: Child 1 was observed standing in a crib. Provider stated the chid should be trying to sleep. Chid 1 was taken out of the crib after a few minutes. About 15 minutes later, Child 2 was placed in the same crib. Upon interview, the provider stated sometimes Child 1 utilizes the crib and sometimes Child 2 utilizes the crib. Plan of Correction: We will no longer share cribs.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on observation, caregivers did not ensure that children's hands were washed after meals. Evidence: After eating a meal, a child was escorted to a toy to play with while waiting for nap time. Plan of Correction: We will make sure to wash hands after meals.
