Today we discussed bringing the small step can (hands free can) closer to the area where diapers are being changed to ensure that the vendor does not have to set down the diaper or touch anything with her hands until she is able to wash them after the diaper change is completed.
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on December 3, 2018 from 2:35 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 6 children present, 2 to 4 years old, for a total of 16 points, in care at the time of arrival with the vendor and one assistant caregiver. A seventh child, eight years old, arrived during the inspection. The records sample size consisted of 6 children?s records and 2 vendor / caregiver / household member records. Children were observed playing with a variety of toys during the inspection and being read to from children's literature. Diapering procedures, hand washing, sanitizing and restroom procedures were also observed today. The vendor states that no medication is administered to children in care at this time and that children are not routinely transported in a vehicle. Children play outdoors in the back yard, which is completely decked and gated, under the direct supervision and close proximity of the vendor. The vendor reports that there have been no accidents or injuries requiring first aid or medical treatment incurred by children in care since the last inspection. There are no children currently enrolled who have diagnosed food allergies. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
