- Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the provider: The heating of bottles in the microwave. Also discussed lowering the mattress in the crib for safety of baby who is getting older. Discussed changes to the USDA requirements.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 9:30 and ending at 11:00. There were two children in care, ages 6 months and 3 years. Observed the baby playing with age appropriate toys on a blanket on the floor. The preschool had snack, was read a story and played with age appropriate toys. She is very outgoing and talkative. Reviewed children's files - see violation notice. Emergency escape drills and shelter in place drills are up to date. Attendence sheet is complete Menu is posted Provider is participating in the Family Day Care Association and exceeds standards in training hours. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-G Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the provider heated an infants bottle in the microwave. Evidence: The provider has one infant in care. She heated his bottle in the microwave during the inspection. She stopped when told to b the Licensing Inspector and let the bottle warm to room temp and tested it. Plan of Correction: The provider will never heat bottles in the microwave and will discuss with the parent how or if she wants the bottle warmed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of the records for 4 enrolled children, it was determined that 2 siblings had one required component missing from their records. Evidence: The records for Child #1 and Child #2, did not have Medical insurance Number as required by standards. Plan of Correction: The provider will discuss this with the parent.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, it was determined that there were cleaning supplies on the top of the cabinet in the bathroom. Evidence : There was on the bleach water and lysol bathroom cleaner on top of the cabinet. Plan of Correction: The provider will keep all cleaning supplies locked.
