Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included physical environment and record keeping.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 2 children in care for 6 points. I observed one child at rest while another was involved in building projects. Records were well-organized. If you have any questions, please contact me at brenda.kuhlman@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A
Description: Based on observation, the attendance record did not list the names of the children present today. Evidence: Some parents signed their own name, but not all. The purpose of the attendance is to make clear which children are present at any time.

Plan of Correction: The state form was printed out and will be used each day.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation today, there were some areas of the home that were not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: There were some splintering areas on the wooden outside frame of the entrance to the children's area today. A children's chair was very sticky. Bottle of cleaner that were in substitute spray bottles were not labeled.

Plan of Correction: I can put tape on today and paint it later on. The chair will be washed down. Bottles were labeled during inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-250-A
Description: Based on observation, there were some thick electrical cables wrapped around a folded chair in the children's area. Evidence: The wires from the Kareoke machine were accessible at child height.

Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection.
