An announced monitoring and modification inspection was conducted today 01/16/2019. There were 6 children (24 points) with 2 caregivers. The children were observed playing with age appropriate toys and games, singing songs and playing with play dough. The children were also observed during hand washing, lunch, diaper changing and nap. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-B Description: Based on observation shelter in place drills were not practiced twice per year. Evidence: The provider had no available documentation of completed practice of shelter-in-place procedures. Plan of Correction: We start doing two shelter in place drills each year.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-330-A Description: Based on observation the provider did not have a landline telephone available, operable and accessible during the family day home hours of operation. Evidence: The provider stated that she did not have an operable landline due to recent move. Plan of Correction: Due to having just moved into a new home, I contacted the phone company and they have told me that the process will take 48 hours and I hope that within 5 days the process will be completed. I will call licensing when it is done.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on review of records, 1 of 2 staff was missing a Child Protective Services record result. Evidence: Staff # 1 was missing a Child Protective Services record result. Plan of Correction: Will send this out by 01/21/19.
