The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 11:30am to 1:50pm. The children were observed eating breakfast, playing with toys, going over the alphabet and listening to a story. Today, there were 8 children, totaling 26 points, present with two caregiver. The provider does administer medication, however there wasn't any medication to administer. The provider does not provide transportation. The provider does not have pets. Five children?s records and three caregivers? records were reviewed during the inspection. Emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 12/06/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 09/20/2018 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A Description: Based on observation and caregiver interview on 1/17/2019, the provider did not ensure that when topical skin products are used written parent authorization noting any known adverse reactions shall be obtained, and the product shall be labeled with the child's name. EVIDENCE: Lotions, such as Aquaphor, Baby Lotion and Coca Butter Lotion, were observed under the changing table. Caregiver #1 stated that the lotions were the provider's and used on the children. The lotions were unlabeled and Caregiver #1 stated that she did not have authorizations for the products. Plan of Correction: Will label the products and have parents sign the authorizations form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-C Description: Based on observation on 01/17/2019, the provider did not ensure that feeding tables with safety waist and crotch straps have them fastened. EVIDENCE: Three children were observed sitting in the feeding table at the home. The waist strap for each one was not fastened. Some of the seats in the table did not have straps. Plan of Correction: Will order more straps for the other seats. Will make sure that when the children are in the seats the straps are fastened.
