Reviewed the Child Care Program Regulation (22VAC40-665) - Subsidy inspection requirements memo that was distributed to subsidy providers on 10/16/2018. Left a copy of memo and information sheet with the provider.
The licensing inspector conducted a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 11:30am to 1:50pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The children were observed eating breakfast, playing with toys, going over the alphabet and listening to a story. Today, there were 8 children, totaling 26 points, present with two caregiver. The provider does administer medication, however there wasn't any medication to administer. The provider does not provide transportation. The provider does not have pets. Five children?s records and three caregivers? records were reviewed during the inspection. Emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 12/06/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 09/20/2018 A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. Please see the accompanying violation notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-370-A-1 Description: Based on observation on 01/17/2019, the provider did not ensure that children's hands are washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes after eating meals. EVIDENCE: The children were observed eating breakfast snack during the inspection. They did not wash their hands after the meal and before going to play. Plan of Correction: Washing hands after eating is part of our program. They forgot today due to a change in the routine.
