Licensing inspector (LI) had a discussing with the provider regarding monthly fire drills and proper documentation of the dates of practiced drills.
Today an unannounced Renewal inspection took place between 7:50am and 10:00am. There were 6 children present with 2 assistants for a total of 20 points within the supervision guidelines. The provider was not home at the start of the inspection and arrived during the inspection. The children were observed being dropped off by their parents, eating breakfast (french toast with milk), coloring, playing with play dough. Diaper changing and napping was observed with the infants. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1 Description: Based on observation, the provider's first aid kit did not contain all of the required supplies. Evidence: The first aid kit did not contain scissors or two triangular bandages. Plan of Correction: Scissors were added to the kit during the inspection. Purchased two triangular bandages.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-B Description: Based on record review, the provider did not review the emergency plan at least annually as required. Evidence: The last documented review of the emergency preparedness plan is dated 1/17/2018. Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on observation, the caregiver's did not ensure that children's hands were washed with soap and running water after diapering. Evidence: During the inspection a caregiver was observed changing a child's diaper. When the diaper change was complete, the child's hands were cleaned with a disposable wipe. Plan of Correction: Explained to assistants.
