Discussion was held on topics of current enrollment, training hours obtained during the current licensing period, and methods for labeling infant bottles.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 11:35am through 2:00pm. There were a total of 10 children present (24 points) with the Provider and 1 assistant. A total of 4 children?s files, 2 staff files, and 2 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: engaging in circle time, stretching and calming activities, singing, dancing, making Valentine's card holders, reading a book, and eating lunch which consisted of macaroni and cheese, green beans, fruit and milk. Positive interactions between caregivers and children were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the programming space, children and staff records, evacuation drills, menu, attendance, and emergency procedures were completed today. The provider advised there is no medication on site today. There is an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and toys. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, 1 of 4 children's records did not contain written authorization for emergency medical care. Evidence: 1. Child #1's record did not contain written authorization for the provider to seek emergency medical care should an emergency occur and the parent cannot be located immediately. Plan of Correction: I will have the parent complete it today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review, 1 of 2 staff records did not contain an updated Tuberculosis test that was completed within the last 2 years.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1's last Tuberculosis test was on 7/27/2016.Plan of Correction: She did complete the Tuberculosis test and is going to call the doctor to get a copy.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, such as cleaning agents and disinfectants, were not stored in an area inaccessible to children in care. Evidence: 1. A spray bottle of bleach solution was found sitting on the counter top next to the sink in the bathroom in the downstairs programming space that is used by the children. 2. The door to the bathroom was open and there was step stool for the children to wash their hands at the sink where the spray bottle was located. Plan of Correction: The bottle was placed in a locked cabinet underneath the sink during the inspection.
