An unannounced renewal inspection was completed today. The physical plant, 6 caregiver/household member files, 5 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 11:50-1:10pm. There were 12 children (plus a grandchild who resides in the home), totaling 35 points, under the supervision of 3 caregivers. During the inspection, children were observed reading books, enjoying free play, cleaning up for and eating lunch, preparing for and resting during naptime. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Today, the children were served cheese pizza, salad and milk. The Provider is certified in MAT (medication administration training), but there are no children with any medication needs at this time. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-520-E Description: Based on observations, there was a crib in the FDH with bumper pads on it. Evidence 1. One of the cribs, used by a child in care, had bumper pads attached to it. Plan of Correction: Removed during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-540-B Description: Based on observations and interview, the Provider had an infant walker in the playroom, which was used by the children. Evidence 1. There was an infant walker in the playroom, which has been used by the children. Plan of Correction: This will be removed.
Standard #: 63.2-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 6 caregiver/household members does not have a completed fingerprint check. Evidence 1. Caregiver/household member #2 does not have a completed fingerprint check prior to working with children. Plan of Correction: An appointment has been made for this to be completed this Saturday.
