Technical assistance was provided regarding documenting shelter in place drills.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:30am. There were 7 children (12 points) supervised by 1 direct caregiver. The home, children?s records, household member?s records, evacuation drills, programming, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed during center time, painting and eating snack,, which consisted of apple sauce and crackers. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Positive interaction was observed between children and caregiver. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-D Description: Based on review of emergency procedures and interview with provider, there is no documentation of shelter in place drills. Evidence: Provider stated she did not document any shelter in place drills. Plan of Correction: I will make sure to write down when we do the shelter in place drills.
