Discussed VDSS Child Abuse & Neglect training.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:10am-11:30am. There were 6 children (23 points) supervised by 3 direct care staff. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, 1 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing with climbers, musical instruments, having storytime, and learning Spanish. Bottle-feeding procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation, 5 of 5 infant cribs were not maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence: The infant cribs in the naptime room had chipped wood and peeling paint along the edges of the cribs. Plan of Correction: We will search for a way to cover the areas.
