22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 9 children plus one resident child in care. The licensee and two assistant caregivers were present. Children present ranged in age from 14months through four years old. Total points present equaled 18. Children were observed interacting in the play room, coloring, morning snack, restroom routines, transitions and outside play. Children and caregiver records were reviewed as well as required postings and emergency drills. Violations regarding children's records and required postings were identified and appear on the violation notices.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review and interview the provider failed to ensure that children's records contain all required information is contained in each child's record. Evidence: 1 - The records for child 1, 2 and 3 do not include documentation of annual information updates a. The most recent information update for child 1 is January 1, 2019. b. The most recent information update for child 2 is April 9, 2019. c. The most recent information update for child 3 is April 9, 2019. 2 - The provider confirmed that the three children's records were not updated as required. Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain the updated information as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Description: Based on observation and interview the provider failed to ensure that the findings of the most recent inspection was posted in the family day care home. Evidence: 1 - The violation notices issued in January 2019 were not posted in the family day. 2 - The provider confirmed that violation notices were not posted. Plan of Correction: The violation notices were posted in the family day home during the inspection.
